About Binghamton Master Chimney Sweep
Sweeps, Cameras and Brick Work Under One RoofBinghamton Master Chimney Sweep is a small Binghamton chimney company: a crew of three, two white vans and 30 years of sweeping, relining and repointing the chimneys of Broome County.
A Binghamton Chimney Company Built on Brick and Brushes
We started out as sweeps, with a set of brushes, rods and a ladder rack. It didn't take long to see that half the chimneys we cleaned in Binghamton had a bigger problem up top: cracked crowns, washed-out mortar, clay flues split by a chimney fire nobody noticed.
We've seen too many good chimneys lost to one cracked crown, so we learned the brick side too. Today the same crew that sweeps your chimney can pour the crown, repoint the joints and run a stainless liner, which means one visit, one price and nobody blaming the last guy. It works.
We sweep about 1,400 flues a year across Binghamton, Johnson City, Endicott, Vestal and the towns around them. Spring and summer are for masonry and catching up; August to November we sweep from first light. In our experience the chimneys that last are the ones somebody looks at every year.

How We Work on Every Chimney
1. Brush First, Then the Camera
We clean the flue before we look at it, because you can't see a cracked tile through creosote. Then the camera goes down, and you watch the screen with us.
2. A Price Before the Ladder
Sweeps are a flat $250 for the first flue. Repairs get one written price, and it doesn't change if the job runs long.
3. Old Brick, Soft Mortar
Most Binghamton chimneys are 70 to 100 years old. We repoint them with mortar softer than the brick, so the joint wears instead of the brick.

Owner
“I'd rather tell you a chimney is fine and leave than sell you a liner it doesn't need. The camera keeps everybody honest, me included.”
Tom Hudak
Owner and lead sweepTom grew up on the First Ward, carried brick for his uncle's masonry crew as a teenager and started sweeping chimneys in his twenties. After 30 years on our roofs, he still does most of the camera inspections himself. He'd rather show you the screen than tell you a story.
